Class Blog

For regular updates on our learning over the term, please see the Poppy Class Blog.

You can find out about the learning we have planned for the the term ahead in our Topic Plans.

Home Learning – Weekly Essentials & Enrichment Activities

The children have been given their Home Learning/Curriculum Enrichment Activity books. When you open the books you will see their home learning and spelling sheets.

Weekly Essentials

Reading x3 per week & a written response (to be handed in on Thursdays).

Maths Challenge – this will be posted on the Class Blog (Home Learning/Curriculum Enrichment books to be handed in on Fridays).

Spellings – These are in the front of your Home Learning/Curriculum Enrichment books. In addition I will put a reminder and explain the spelling rules on the Class Blog.

There will be a spelling bee/quiz on a Friday

Curriculum Enrichment Activities

These are ideas that the children and I have devised together. Please note that the children only need to pick 6 activities for them to complete during this term (until Christmas) and these are NOT expected to be completed weekly. If your children wants to complete more that is absolutely fine.

Please try and get in the habit of checking the class blog each week to see the weekly challenges.

In addition, when you ask your child “What have you done today?” and they reply “Nothing!”, you will have the opportunity to see for yourself some of the wonderful learning that takes place in Poppy class!
